Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare lesson plans to correlate with course outline
· Understand and apply teaching strategies when implementing lesson plans
· Maintain and discipline in classroom and clinical settings
· Knowledge of and adherence to training site standards
· Participate in faculty in-services and advisory meetings
· Provide student assessments as necessary
· Assure students have met all requirements prior to community classroom placement
· Report verbally and in writing or accidents to supervisors
· Maintain accurate records and complete reports as required
· Perform related duties such as participating in special activities, providing remedial assistance and counseling students with academic problems
Requirements:
1) A current California License (RN or LVN) and valid California Driver's License
2) Willingness to pursue a California Vocational Teaching Credential – and:
EITHER
1. One year full time experience as a licensed nurse providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility, and
One year experience planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing. (Or obtain a DSD certification after employment.
OR
2. Two years full time experience as a licensed nurse of which at least one year must be in providing direct patient care in a nursing care facility, and prior to teaching a certification program, shall obtain a minimum of 24 hours continuing education courses in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs in nursing.

2) A California Vocational Teaching Credential (applicants who do not have a teaching credential qualify to apply but must begin the process to obtain the proper credential prior to start date)
3) AND…
EITHER
