Vista Unified School District ROP Program is seeking a qualified Marketing Sales and Service Instructor to teach Virtual Enterprise to high school students. Duties include all aspects of working in a business, budgeting, health insurance options, personal budgeting, use of credit, online marketing, advertising, tax law and forms.. This class is taught through a "Virtual Enterprise" where students create a simulated small business as a group. Virtual Enterprise is an in-school entrepreneurship program and global business simulation that draws on the European tradition of apprenticeships. The simulated business replicates all of the functions and demands of a real business in both structure and practice, from product development, production, distribution, marketing, management and performance. The selected instructor will guide learning using a project-based curriculum that is aligned with state standards, validated by the business community, and measured by a national exam. Business partners expose students to real-world learning by connecting them to professionals across industries that deliver technical content and serve as role models, coaches, mentors, business advisor's and internship hosts.
The ideal candidate holds a Single Subject credential and/or a bachelor's degree in business management, marketing or other closely related field. The candidate will be eligible for a Designated Subjects Career Technical Education teaching credential by having at least 3 years of industry experience in business management, marketing, or other closely related field. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, team player, works well with youth, charismatic, interested in a career in education.
