Job Description:    Provides administrative leadership in the development, coordination, and implementation of educational student leadership programs that enhance student learning including civic engagement, ethical decision making, budgeting and event management Oversees the development, planning and implementation of leadership training workshops, leadership conferences/retreats, and other types of programs that promote leadership development in students Serves as an Associate Director for the Institute and manages the planning and implementation of its programmatic components Works with academic and student affairs departments across campus for the development of leadership programs Develops, implements, and assesses learning outcomes to ensure programs are meeting the needs of all Chico State students Coordinates the selection process, training, and overall supervision of all student workers designated to the Leadership Institute Produces, publishes, and distributes communication to the Chico State community about all programs and services Maintains an accurate website Serves on committees and task forces as assigned. Develops and executes program opportunities that allow for additional internship experiences which increase student skills in problem solving and critical thinking processes Coordinates and facilitates mentor relations   Coordinates resources to support the projects and to establish relationships with key stakeholders to build the capacity of the Leadership Institute and ensure projects are completed Provides supervision, leadership, advice, and assistance to students, staff, and faculty for planning programs  Prepares annual reports Manages the development and monitoring of program budgets   Develops tracking systems to monitor work plans, tasks, and other assigned duties of all participants in association with the projects  Represents AS Programs in contacts with the campus, community, the public, and other organizations.

 

Experience:       

Five (5) years of full-time, progressive experience in student affairs, student union or student leadership development (or equivalent). Experience to include general knowledge of the principles, practices and trends of the Student Services field preferred.

One year full-time experience supervising career staff required.

One year of experience may be substituted with a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration, Student Development, Educational Leadership or equivalent (with emphasis in student affairs). To qualify, the Master’s degree must include a one year assistantship. Remaining experience required in full-time capacity as noted above.
