Requirements for Applying

Any combination equivalent to: High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or State High School Proficiency certificate supplemented by an Associate’s or higher degree. Two years of study at an institute of higher education equivalent to 48 semester units or successful completion of the county office adopted Paraeducator Academic Assessment may be substituted for the Associate’s degree. Experience working with At-Risk Youth or Special Needs Children is preferred. (Moderate/Severe classrooms require diapering/feeding). Must be willing to commute to Kerman and Reedley area. Substitutes working in Special Education require a pre-placement medical assessment (paid for by substitute and FCOE) at a clinic selected by the county office. Any offer of employment is contingent upon successful certification by designated physician that applicant is able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
