Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) promotes optimal child development and family well-being through access to quality child care, family support, economic development, and community education. CCRC assists parents, child care professionals, employers, and local communities in all matters related to early care and education. Our mission has been guided by the belief that our social and economic future depends on the quality of a young child’s experiences.  Our current programs include Head Start and Early Head Start, Child Care Financial Assistance, Child Care Resources and Referral, and our Family Child Care Home Education Network.

CCRC is looking for a Head Start Teacher with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood education or a related field. At CCRC we believe in teamwork, having fun and achieving success for our kids and our families.  That is where you come in…we believe our Center Directors, Teachers and Administrative Staff are the cornerstone of our success and as a Head Start Teacher at CCRC, you play a key role in guaranteeing that success of our students are achieved in the classroom.

 

General Summary:  Under the direction of the Center Director, the Teacher will plan and implement individual and group activities designed to stimulate learning for all children.

 

To be successful, you:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (or related field), including a minimum of 24 semester units in ECE/CD.
  • Must have knowledge of Early Childhood Education principles and practices and effective techniques of child supervision.
  • Must have a Child Development CTC Teachers Permit or higher.
  • Have two years direct experience with young children as a preschool teacher.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities are a preferred.
  • Must have use of an automobile with adequate insurance coverage and a valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving records substantiated by a copy of DMV records.
  • Must have required fingerprint, Child Abuse Index, T.B. and Health clearances.
  • Must hold a valid First Aid or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate upon hire or within 30 days.

 

Candidates will need to upload a copy of all transcripts along with a resume to be considered for the position.

 

Key areas of responsibility include the ability to:

  • Provide and actively participate in parent conferences, home visits, IEP process and meetings, weekly planning meetings, and center staff meetings
  • Provide, plan, maintain a clean and safe learning environment on a daily basis by planning for support within the center and classroom.
  • Ensure that reports required by the Agency and the State are adequate and timely.
  • Provide leadership through guidance of teacher assistants and volunteers in the vision and principles of CCRC Head Start, and respect of individuals and community
  • Supervise, evaluate assistant teacher, and train teacher assistant in the policies and procedures of CCRC Head Start, lesson planning, assessments, developmental summary, observations, read and analyze DRDP-PS, EIP, MDTM notes, referrals, individual logs, children’s files, curriculum, end of the month paperwork, and center reports
  • May act as a designee at the center.
  • As direct supervisor in the classroom ensure the daily functions of the classroom, act as a mentor and guide teacher assistants in all areas in the education program including but not limited to delegating and rotating classroom responsibilities
  • Other duties, as assigned.
