Assists the Special Education Teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students with special learning needs as indicated on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The aide may provide a variety of supportive services to identified special education classroom on regular education setting. The Instructional Aide performs clerical duties as assigned.

Examples of Job Duties:
*Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced by the Special Education Teacher.
*Assist the Special Education Teacher in providing specialized instruction that is designed to compliment or compensate for the abilities or disabilities of pupils.
*Supervises students on playground, cafeteria, walks, field trips, and buses.
*Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as expected of a fully licensed teacher.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in working with students within a school district. Substitute work is an on-call basis.
