Cajon Valley Union School District
Application Deadline: 10/31/2013 4:00 PM Pacific
The Cajon Valley Union School District is located in east San Diego County. The district is 66.3 square miles in size, and serves elementary students in grades K-8 feeding into the Grossmont Union High School District. The district has approximately 15,800 students, plus approximately 800 preschool students, with 26 schools (6 middle schools, 19 elementary schools and 1 preschool). The District is largely urban in nature with some rural areas. The District is at the beginning phase of transitioning to new national learning standards (Common Core State Standards) and state assessment system (Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium). In order to personalize student learning, leverage advances in computer-adaptive learning and assessment tools, provide access to a broad range of curriculum and content, teach digital literacies, and prepare our children to be competitive in the global economy, CVUSD's transition plan includes an infusion of student technology tools. Educational technology initiatives are only successful when high levels of communication and collaboration exist between Business Services, Educational Services, Personnel Services, and end users. As a senior management position, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will report directly to the Superintendent and support each department in keeping pace with modern technologies specific to their needs. Cajon Valley Union School District Board Policy 4030 prohibits unlawful discrimination and/or harassment of District employees and job applicants. Complaints regarding discrimination in employment should be addressed to the Coordinator for Nondiscrimination in Employment.
