Job Description / Essential Elements: Print   
  • Prepares data for database entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Generates a variety of reports and responds to inquiries regarding data as requested.
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following established data standards and procedures.
  • Processes customer source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; contacts preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
  • Verifies accuracy of entered customer data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; combining data from multiple systems when information is incomplete.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen, and enters necessary codes.

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to operate various word-processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs (proficient in Excel).
  • Performs general clerical duties such as typing, answering phones, etc.
  • Interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals.
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
  • Detail oriented and possess technical skills.

Requirements for Applying

This position is a member of the clerical data team within the Data and Assessment Department. Qualifications and skill requirements include: strong computer skills; spreadsheet skills/experience, excellent organizational and basic office skills; ability to prioritize and manage changing workload; detailed oriented, strong communication skills (written and verbal); ability to deal with confidential information; knowledge of basic filing procedures, systems, and excel.

The Charter School of San Diego is an educational option for grades 7-12 students. Its instructional design is based on a “University Model”. Students work independently and attend classes, labs, or tutorials 2-5 times/wk. Students come at scheduled times; no more than 20 students on site at a time. The learning environment, located in store-fronts throughout the city, is professional, clean, safe and well-equipped with curriculum resources, teacher & student laptops, desktop computers, wireless networks, and high-speed T-1 Internet access in each classroom. SELECTION PROCEDURE: Selected applicants will be interviewed by a panel of staff/teachers (2) and will complete work-styles/behavior survey. Candidates who successfully complete this phase of process will be interviewed by Directors.
