Requirements for Applying

SDCOE is recruiting for a Special Education Teacher for the Juvenile Court and Community School program at Monarch School, located in National City, CA. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing quality learning experiences, preparing semester plans and daily lesson plans, and creating a stimulating classroom environment conducive to intellectual discovery. Applicants must have experience in the development and writing of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), assessment procedures, and adherence to federal and state regulations for students with severe disabilities. Experience in providing instruction in urban settings, working with a diverse student population, multicultural instructional methods, strong behavior intervention classroom management. This position requires a valid CA Mild/Moderate Education Specialist credential (or equivalent) and an English learner authorization. Applicants must be eligible for a valid California driver's license. CPR and First Aid certification are highly desirable.
