POSITION: Teacher Assistant – (LMSTA) – (Non-Union)

(Math)

REPORTS TO: Classroom Teacher/Assistant Principal

EVALUATED BY: Assistant Principal and/or Principal

WORK YEAR: 180 Workdays

SALARY RANGE: $14.47 per hour

SUMMARY:

Works directly with an assigned classroom teacher(s) to assist in the instructional program.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists students on an individual basis or in small groups with the instructional program.

2. Assists classroom teacher(s) in producing and collating instructional materials.

3. Assists teacher(s) in general supervision of students.

4. Assists teacher(s) in following classroom and school-wide discipline plans.

5. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess High school diploma or equivalent

• Possess at least 48 semester units of university coursework

• Must be continuously enrolled in an accredited college/university

• Passing score on the district instructional aide test in math, English, reading comprehension, spelling and punctuation

• Must be available to work Monday thru Friday

• Bilingual-biliterate English/Spanish highly desirable

• Experience working with students in a school or recreational setting desirable
