QUALIFICATIONS:

• Appropriate California Education Specialist credential authorizing service as a resource specialist (Education Specialist: Mild/Moderate OR Learning Handicapped Specialist)
• CLAD certification
• NCLB in mathematics
• A demonstrated understanding of appropriate curriculum and curriculum modifications for students with special needs in sheltered and inclusion settings
• Experience with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process
• Experience working with students with disabilities
• Successful teaching experience
• A demonstrated understanding of the growth and development stages of students with special needs
• Excellent organizational skills
• An understanding of the need for a positive, motivating environment for all students, including English language learners and learning handicapped
• A philosophy of discipline and a style of classroom management which are aligned and consistent with the other members of the staff
• Willingness  to be an active participant in the co-curricular clubs, activities , intramurals or sports programs of the school, which includes additional hours
