QUALIFICATIONS:

• Appropriate California multiple subject teaching credential
• CLAD certification or EL/SDAIE embedded in credential
• Strong knowledge of the common core standards-based system, and prepared to implement a standards-based system
• Experience with differentiated instruction and an ability to modify and accommodate for ELL and mainstreamed Special Education students
• Understands and provides a strong academic program balanced by projects
• Committed to active planning with grade level team and shared-decision making team, both involving additional hours
• Willingness to work as a member of a grade level team and in PLCs, share and incorporate agreed upon procedures and practices
• Desirous of establishing a strong reading program for students
• Employs 21^st century skills.  Ability to use technology throughout the curriculum
• Willingness to participate in after school tutoring and intervention programs
• Experience with articulation within and between grade levels
• Understands and articulates the “whole child” concept and emotional intelligence
• Realizes and defines the need for a positive, nurturing, and caring environment for all students
• Experience with and demonstrated use of a fair, firm and consistent discipline plan
• Demonstrates understanding of, and commitment to District adopted curriculum, i.e., Open Court
• Possesses a high regard for teacher and student accountability
• Committed to ongoing professional growth and continuing education
• Fluency in Mandarin desired
