COACHELLA VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - MIDDLE SCHOOL A. Description of Position: Assists the Principal in the areas of student supervision, attendance, discipline, curriculum and staff development, testing programs, staff evaluation, buildings and grounds, community relations; other functions as assigned. The Assistant Principal implements the philosophy, goals, objectives and policies of the District; establishes an effective working relationship with students, parents, school personnel and members of the school community. B. Supervision Received: Under the immediate supervision of the site Principal. C. Supervision Exercised: As assigned. D. Prime Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assist in student supervision on campus. 2. Supervises Student Body activities. 3. Assistance in implementing school programs and projects. 4. Works with individual students in areas of self control and interpersonal relations. 5. Responsible for student discipline. 6. Promotes home/school relations. 7. Provides support to teachers in working with students. E. Minimum Qualifications: 1. California teaching credential. 2. California Administrative Services Credential (Exam not acceptable). 3. Three years of successful teaching experience 4. Master’s Degree. F. Desired Qualifications: 1. Ability to communicate in English/Spanish. 2. Prior experience as a school or program administrator. G.
