Reporting to the Director of the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education, the Resource Teacher is responsible for the identification, planning and implementation of assistive technology services for students and teachers in the NCCSE consortium. These services include but are not limited to teacher consultation; hardware, software and application selection and demonstration; professional development and coaching; and working as part of the Assistive Technology Team to implement the services identified on student IEPs and by member districts.
Possession of, or eligibility for one of the following valid credentials:
California Education Specialist credential with a mild/moderate emphasis
Multiple Subject in General Education
Single Subject credential in one of the core subject areas
Applicants must also possess an English learner authorization (CLAD or equivalent document) and a valid California driver’s license.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s degree or higher. Applicants should have extensive experience with a minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting Students with Disabilities using assistive technology equipment, software or strategies to access the general education curriculum. Candidates must have experience in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) including coursework in educational technology.
