School Summary

San Gabriel Christian School is a K-8 school located ten miles from Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley. With a current student body of over 300 students, SGCS offers academic excellence through a Christ-centered curriculum. The school was founded in 1949 by San Gabriel Community Church as an extension of her ministry and enjoys the support of this loving, involved church family through investments of prayer, pastoral and ministry personnel, facilities, and other resources. The instructional program at SGCS includes classes in computers, art, vocal and instrumental music, physical education, library, a resource room for students with learning needs, a language lab, and a kindergarten preparation class. Other programs include weekly chapels, daily hot lunch, afterschool daycare, and a summer program featuring both enrichment classes and structured activities.

Position Overview

 The Principal of San Gabriel Christian School is a full-time, year-round position responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school. This person reports directly to the School Superintendent and serves as a member of the School Board. The Principal will work closely with the pastoral staff and other leadership to ensure consistent communication and implementation of the San Gabriel Community Church vision across the entire campus ministry. Membership at San Gabriel Community Church preferred but not required.

  • M.A. or M.S. degree in education or related field
  • Accreditation experience in both hosting and team member capacities
  • Conversant with current best practices in education
  • Advocates for the use of technology as it applies to the classroom, encouraging faculty training with a vision for technology in a changing world and helping students see and use technology from a Biblical worldview
