          The Technology Integration Specialist serves the faculty in a coordinative position. This position collaborates primarily with faculty, inside and outside of the classroom, to support curriculum, instruction, and academic technology integration efforts and activities in grades PK-12. Goal: Facilitate a learning community through collaboration and professional development opportunities with the purpose of improving instruction, achievement, and technology integration. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -provide professional development to teachers to help create lesson plans that integrate academic technology in various curricular areas and then model technologically-integrated lessons for teachers -coach and model to help classroom teachers understand and implement best practices in regards to academic technology integration -work with Heads of Maimonides Upper School (MUS)/Golda Meir Lower School (GMLS) to recommend technology that supports curricular and administrative goals -assist SDJA Dean of Faculty, MUS Dean of Academic Affairs, and GMLS Village Coordinators with curriculum development as it relates to educational technology -model instruction for teachers and teach students in the appropriate use of technology -assist with management of school iPad program, including writing an iPad implementation plan to address distribution, collection, app management, and assisting appropriate personnel in developing iPad orientation for students and parents -assist in the development and implementation of the school-wide Technology Plan -meet weekly with MUS and GMLS administration for short-term goal-setting and follow-up of existing initiatives -teach 3rd, 4th and 5th grade technology class -teach a GMLS elective -be present at the MUS 5th period iPad pod on A/B days -perform student supervision responsibilities as assigned -perform other such duties as related to the position and assigned by supervisors Minimum Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree in Education Technology, preferred -knowledge of good practices in educational technology integration -previous experience as a classroom teacher preferred -successful experience as a collaborative leader -Organized with a strong work ethic -Excellent oral and written communication skills
