SDCOE is recruiting to fill a vacancy for an Early Education Specialist in the Early Education Program and Services Unit. Under general supervision, the Early Education Specialist provides support and monitoring at the agency and site level, ensuring the implementation of the Quality Criteria/Services and early learning environment through consultation, professional development and guiding and monitoring the work of the Early Education Support Providers. The Early Education Specialists will also monitor, implement and support all Quality Preschool Initiative (QPI) services at the agency level in collaboration with QPI coordinators and Agency Directors, and supervise and evaluate the work of Early Education Support Providers to ensure implementation of the Quality Preschool Initiative (QPI) program.
This position requires a possession of, or eligibility for one of the following documents:
• Child Development Site Supervisor Permit
• Child Development Program Director Permit
• Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Administrative Services Credential
For Child Development permit holders, the Administrative Services credential is preferred, but not required.
This position also requires a master's degree in education or related field; five years successful teaching experience in early education, and at least three years of early childhood leadership experience.
