Salary: Appropriate placement on the Non-Teaching Salary Schedule recognizing maximum of 5 years of experience
Qualifications
- Valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing school counseling
- Familiar with the National Counseling Standards
- Knowledge in all three counseling domains – academic, career and personal/social
- Counseling experience at the middle school level
- Knowledge of assessment, evaluation and strategies for improving the learning environment of the classroom
- Knowledge of college counseling strategies
- Knowledge of student discipline strategies
- Knowledge of attendance management strategies
- Knowledge of various testing programs and their interpretation
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies
- Successful experience in conflict resolution
- Knowledge of self-esteem tactics
- Ability to direct students into appropriate programs
- Willingness to be a team player and accept a variety of comprehensive counseling responsibilities
- Organized with clear personal goals and direction
- Willing to work a professional day/week, available for after school hour activities
Desirable Qualifications
- Second language ability such as Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese
