Squaw Valley Preparatory is California public charter school serving middle and high school grade students at its facility in the Olympic Valley at the base of Squaw Valley. Squaw Prep is intended to extend and expand upon the highly successful K-6 design model of Creekside Charter School.  Our program offers classroom instruction Monday through Thursday, adopting a unique bell schedule which encourages students to pursue athletic and artistic passions before and after school, Squaw Prep is actively recruiting teachers who embrace project-based, integrated subject exploration and mastery of the standards, balancing high academic achievement within the context of community, environment, and students' unique creativities, passions and skills.  By encouraging students to discover and hone their interests, talents, and passions, Squaw Prep and its community partners enable students to make important connections with the world around them, becoming self-motivated, competent, lifelong learners who are active contributors to the community and highly successful in college and career pursuits.

We invite organized, creative and dynamic middle and high school educators who are interested in providing students with individualized, innovative and involved learning experiences to consider the following:

Squaw Prep Subject Instructors as a team with peer educators, the Executive Director and school staff in fulfilling the mission and philosophy of the school, meeting the requirements of the school's charter in implementing its purposes, policies and procedures.  Specifically, the Subject Instructor:

  • Is responsible for designing, mapping, and implementing subject instruction for students, individualizing, facilitating and evaluating student development and growth within the mission and education philosophy of the school.
  • Designs curriculum and lessons which are project-based, subject-integrated, technology infused and experiential in nature, aligned with the state-adopted standards and individualized to optimize student success.
  • Assesses student learning in a variety of manners which allow students to demonstrate and communicate concept mastery and depth of knowledge, charting progress and allowing achievment data to guide instruction.
  • Clearly communicates an academic plan for the year.
  • Has a working knowledge of school policies and procedures as set forth in the Staff Handbook and the Student-Parent Handbook, and upholds such policies and procedures.
  • Supports and guides parents in all aspects of their student’s education in a manner which is joyful, respectful and solutions-oriented.
