COORDINATOR, SPECIAL EDUCATION

IS PREPARED TO: 

  • Coordinate special education programs and related services
  • Supervise and evaluate assigned DIS personnel
  • Act as complaint and resolution manager for student filed cases and complaints
  • Oversee overall program compliance within legal mandates and guidelines
  • Provide guidance to special and general education administrators and staff with regard to special education legal compliance
  • Coordinate programs and services through non-public agencies and non-public schools
  • Coordinate “search and serve” referral and assessment procedures
  • Coordinate programs for mental health services
  • Act as advisor for Program Supervisors
  • Coordinate and monitor District SARB process

Requirements:

  • An earned Master’s Degree
  • An administrative credential authorizing K-12 service
  • Special education credential

Salary and Work Year:

  • Administrators’ Salary Schedule – Range 11, $95,077 - $110,161
  • Assignment length – 206 duty days
