Requirements for Applying

ELIGIBILITY *Bachelor Degree required, Master Degree desirable. *Possession of California Administrative Credential; or be enrolled in a California Administrative Intern program at an accredited university/college and be able to provide a letter from the university of same. *California teaching or counseling credential. *Three or more years of successful experience in a public school setting. *Strong interpersonal skills. *Ability to communicate with and relate to multi-ethnic population. *Knowledge of current instructional practices.

          POSITION DESCRIPTION Supervise high school students regarding serious discipline and attendance problems; confer with students, parents, staff, community and legal agencies. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES *Shares with the principal responsibility for protecting student and employee health and welfare. *Shares responsibility for certifying students for graduation. *Counsels individual students and, when necessary, makes appropriate referrals for testing, guidance or psychological counseling. *Makes recommendations for appropriate revisions of policies and rules affecting students’ school life. *Assists in discipline situations while maintaining records of disciplinary action taken. *Participates in coordination, implementation and supervision of co-curricular activities, when assigned. *Works with community and government agencies on situations relating to drug abuse and truancy. *Assists in developing and administering practices related to campus control and security. *Oversees all aspects of campus supervision. *Confers with and makes appropriate referrals to psychologists, social workers and other personnel. *Confers with parents, teachers, counselors, support service personnel and students on matters of discipline and student welfare. *Has general supervisory responsibility for student activities, athletic events, programs of student orientation and similar activities. *Coordinates and monitors work locations of campus supervisors and other support staff. *Assists with evaluation of classified and/or certificated staff. *Knowledge of current instructional practices.
