Job Description / Essential Elements: Print   

DEFINITION: Under immediate supervision, performs beginning level clerical work and performs related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
-Types letters, memoranda, reports, forms and other materials
-Processes and maintains documents and other data
-Registers and enrolls students
-Sorts, files and distributes materials
-Receives the public and gives routine information
-Operates and maintains basic office equipment including microcomputer and related software

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Training & Experience:
-None

Knowledge of:
-Reading, spelling and basic arithmetic
-Standard office practices and procedures

Skill in:
-Following routine written and oral instructions
-Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others
-The operation of a computer, software and basic office equipment
-Typing and filing

Ability to:
-Learn routine clerical tasks
-Learn to operate a computer and related software

License:
-A valid California driver's license

 

CST Salary Range: 356

EXAMINATION INFORMATION: Location: Willow Creek Center, 1026 Mohr Lane, Concord; Computer Lab Date: Monday, April 15, 2013 Time: 1 pm Please make sure that you come at least 10 minutes earlier (test time approximately 2 hours) PLEASE ATTEND TESTING AT ABOVE STATED DATE AND TIME. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE WRITTEN NOTIFICATION. SELECTION PROCEDURE: All applicants are required to take and pass the written examination scheduled below. Areas covered on the examination are math, grammar, filing, spelling and timed typing at 45 wpm net. Calculators may be used on the examination but will not be provided. Typing certificates for 45 net wpm, from EastBay Works or adult education centers (web will not be accepted) within the past six months will be accepted or applicants may take timed typing test at exam. If submitting a certificate, it must be submitted with application, by final filing date. NOTICE: Following successful testing, a competitive screening process will be used to determine who will be invited to the interview portion of the examination. The following will be taken into consideration as part of the screening process: test results, application, resume, and letters of recommendation. Applicants will be notified of interview date and time. Prior to employment, candidate will be fingerprinted by Mt. Diablo Unified School District. Costs incurred are the responsibility of the prospective employee.
