CAMPBELL UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT SCHOOL CLERK JOB DESCRIPTION: Perform a variety of clerical and health related responsibilities and public relations functions directly related to the school. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist with the implementation of the Health Services Program under the direction of the District Nurse. 2. Work as a team member in the school office. 3. Perform a variety of clerical work. 4. May assume responsibility for day to day attendance records and contact parents for verification of absence. 5. Advise administration of attendance problems. 6. Assume responsibility for monthly and yearly reports. 7. Assist injured or ill students, consistent with training level and student care plans. Contact nurse and/or parent as needed. 8. Process new and transferring students. 9. After obtaining proper authorization and training, may dispense medication to students. 10. Maintain cumulative records. 11. Prepare, and maintain special medical alert lists and communicate information to staff and nurses. 12. Assume responsibilities for public relations as a representative of the District. 13. Order and maintain site inventory of health supplies. 14. Schedule and assist with mandated screenings and reporting requirements. 15. Review and maintain immunization records. 16. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Credential and/or License: Current First Aid Certificate required. For positions designated "Bilingual/ Biliterate required" by the District, successful completion of the test certifying bilingualism and biliteracy in English and another language, determined by Campbell Union School District, is required. Education: Education equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade. Willingness to complete and maintain First Aid and CPR training. Experience: Successful office or public contact work desirable. Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of correct English usage, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, punctuation and general math. Ability to communicate with staff members, parents, students and community in a positive manner. Have a genuine interest in helping children. Work under pressure of deadlines and constant interruptions. Technology and keyboarding skills required. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to follow written and oral direction; compile and maintain accurate and complete records and reports. REPORTS TO: School Administrator(s). TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be according to the current schedule, (Range 39). For bilingual/biliterate designated positions, salary will be at Range 40. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District's policies and procedures and existing contract between Campbell Union School District and the California School Employees Association, Chapter #78.
