Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print   
Instructs students in reading and/or language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, health, physical education, art, music, and other assigned areas of curriculum, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education. The level of instruction will be based upon each pupil's reasonable achievement expectancy. Facilitates the pupil’ s development in citizenship, basic communication skills and other general elements of the course of study specified in state law, district policies and administrative regulations and procedures of the district.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Current California Multiple Subject Credential or a 30-day Substitute Teaching Permit • CLAD, BCLAD or other EL Certification (preferred) • Knowledge of education requirements and procedures for classroom implementation • Knowledge of developmental milestones and learning development • Ability to work as a team member with staff, parents and community DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Deliver developmentally appropriate lessons for students as directed by the regular classroom teacher • Apply appropriate classroom management techniques to facilitate a safe, engaging and productive learning environment for students • All other classroom teacher duties as assigned • Work with parents as needed
