California Montessori Project (CMP) is a Public Charter School serving students in grades K through 8, with 5 campuses located in the greater Sacramento area: Elk Grove, Downtown Sacramento, Shingle Springs, Carmichael and Citrus Heights/Fair Oaks. We are currently interviewing for an Administrative Assistant for assignment at the campus level. The school office Administrative Assistant is a member of a close knit team that provides service to school staff and families and handles all student services, attendance and daily operations issues of the school. The administrative assistant also supports the principal in a variety of capacities within the daily administrative operations of the school. The Administrative Assistant is the first line of communication for the general public inquiring about our program and is also responsible for the maintenance of the general office and school environment. The Administrative Assistant will work with other Administrative Staff to maintain and disseminate school polices and procedures, and support key departments and personnel within the school network as needed. Requirements: Applicants must pass a Department of Justice Background check (livescan) and tuberculosis clearance prior to employment. Applicants must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time, frequently walk up and down stairs, must have the ability to visually and/or physically supervise children and staff as needed, must be able to safely lift up to 30 lbs. and must be able to physically interact in an office, classroom and playground setting. Candidates should possess exemplary written and oral communication skills, professional office skills, and enjoy working in a fast paced, family-style environment. We serve children and their families. Our staff must enjoy public interaction with all ages and backgrounds and must maintain a positive, professional, solution-oriented persona. Successful candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Background in Quickbooks, Acrobat, Pagemaker, etc. is a plus. Previous school office experience is preferred. Success requires the ability to think fast on your feet, multi-task, and work with a multiplicity of personalities. Frequent interruptions are a regular part of the work day. Candidates must possess professional presence as well as excellent communication and customer service skills, and be ready to demonstrate mastery of common computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Quick Books and aptitude toward data entry and data management software. Hours for this position are 1:00pm - 6:00pm year round with a yard duty shift from 11:30-1pm when school is in session
