However, a start date is contingent on fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice. Fingerprints will be taken at the time the position is accepted. There is a total fee of $65.00. Payment is due at the time of service. Cash is not accepted. Fingerprint clearance does not pertain to current employees of the Chaffey District. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform general clerical work for instructional programs; assist teachers with students in classroom as assigned; assist other school staff as assigned. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Listed below are some of the job duties of the position. If a complete job description is needed, please call the Personnel Office. Assist instructional staff with clerical needs such as keeping attendance, duplicating instructional materials, answering phones, maintaining materials and supplies and completing forms and records. Perform a wide variety of clerical work including using a computer, proofreading, filing, verifying and posting information on records. Operate a variety of office machines including a computer, calculator, photocopier and other office machines and equipment. Prepare and maintain records and reports; compile requested information and prepare basic statistical reports. Assemble, collate and staple materials; maintain files. Receive, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail; mail letters, forms and applications. Provide classroom assistance to teachers as requested. Perform related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES KNOWLEDGE OF: Modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Record-keeping techniques. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Reading and writing communication skills. District organization, operations, policies and objectives. Filing techniques. Interpersonal skills; using tact, patience and courtesy. Child guidance principles and practices. ABILITY TO: Provide instructional assistance to students as prescribed by classroom teacher. Perform clerical work of average difficulty without close supervision. Make simple math calculations. Understand and follow oral and written directions. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Maintain records and prepare reports. Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer. Meet schedules and time lines. EDUCATION* AND EXPERIENCE:• Graduation from high school or equivalent Have one of the following: An associates or higher college degree The equivalent of at least two years of college credit (48 semester units) Pass the Chaffey Academic Assessment Test *If selected, proof of high school graduation or equivalency is required.

Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; have one of the following: • An associates or higher college degree • The equivalent of at least two years of college credit (48 semester units) • Pass the Chaffey Academic Assessment Test Licenses and other requirements: Valid California driver’s license. Desired Qualification: Clerical experience in an educational setting.
