Requirements for Applying

There will be an application screening to verify that the minimum qualifications (education and experience) have been satisfied and required attachments have been received. We reserve the right to limit the number of candidates to those deemed most qualified for the particular vacancy(ies), based upon application screening and testing. Types of Exams: 1. Instructional Assistant Competency Exam - Relative Weight 100% 2. Translating/Writing Test – Level 1 - Pass/Fail We will email you via the email address you registered with EDJOIN by Wednesday, February 6, 2013, to advise you if you may participate in the written exam. A link to the Study Guides to help you prepare for the Instructional Assistant Competency Exam will be attached to the confirmation e-mail you receive once your application has been submitted. Please mark your calendars in the event that you are invited to participate in the exam. More details will follow in subsequent emails, so be sure to check your email frequently.

Written Exam: Date: Friday, February 8, 2013 Time: 1:00 p.m. Location: District Office Board Room, Building A Please allow approximately 2 1/2 hours to take this exam. All candidates will be required to provide a photo ID with their signature at the test site. If you have already taken the Instructional Assistant Competency Exam, either with: • Ocean View School District • Huntington Beach City School District • Fountain Valley School District • Westminster School District • Newport-Mesa Unified School District • Huntington Beach Union High School District please notify a member of the Personnel office once you have received your invitation to participate in the written exam, as your scores may be transferred. If you have passed the Translating/Writing Test, Level 1 with Ocean View District District, notify the Personnel Commission office. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable applicants with protected disabilities to participate in the employment selection process. Requests for accommodations must be received by the Classified Personnel Office five (5) business days before the accommodation is needed. You may be asked to provide verification of your disability.

  • Copy of Transcript (Official or Non-Official will be accepted)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (Attach copies of BOTH CPR and First Aid Certification)
  • Proof of HS Graduation (In lieu of a HS Diploma or Equivalent, a college degree is also accepted)
