Requirements / Qualifications

An examination will be given to establish an eligibility list for the position of Paraprofessional-Special Education in order to fill existing and future vacancies. These positions are part-time, varying from 3-6 hours per day working with children who have learning, physical and emotional disabilities. Responsibilities may involve assistance with personal care and lifting. Completed District application for employment 2. Proficiency of No Child Left Behind. See below for explanation.

You must present verification of one of the above options in order to take the Merit System examination. You must RSVP for the proficiency test by calling 619-668-5700 x 6376.

(9:00 a.m.) Plan to attend unless notified that you are NOT screened in. Those who achieve a passing score on the written exam will be invited to an oral exam tentatively scheduled later in the same week. Valid photo ID must be presented in order to test. Latecomers will not be admitted. Arrive early for parking. LOCATION: La Mesa – Spring Valley School District’s Education Service Center (Board Room) 4750 Date Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942.
