Job Description / Essential Elements:
Under supervision, to pick up and deliver mail to all locations; to pick up and deliver Instructional Materials Center equipment, instructional devices, and books in conformity with purchase orders and requisitions; to deliver equipment and supplies to and from the warehouse and other locations; and to perform other related duties as assigned.
Conducts postal business; (E)
Takes mail from all locations to Post Office, picks up District mail and delivers to Central Office; (E)
Delivers mail, payroll, and photocopy orders to all locations; (E)
Picks up IMC supplies, devices, equipment, and books; (E)
Picks up material, furniture and equipment at vendors and other locations; (E)
Receives and inspects incoming equipment and supplies in conformity with purchase orders and requisitions; (E)
Reports shortages, damages or other discrepancies to Warehouse Manager; (E)
Loads, delivers, and unloads supplies and equipment to schools and offices from warehouses; (E)
Prepares and delivers audio visual equipment; (E)
Picks up and delivers testing materials to and from schools; (E)
Keeps necessary files, records, and other forms of paperwork in a timely and accurate manner; (E)
Operates delivery truck, forklift, and other warehouse tools and equipment; (E)
Maintains warehouse and truck in a clean, safe, and orderly condition; (E)
Assembles furniture as required; (E)
Maintains, records and processes surplus equipment and furniture, and document destruction; (E)
Performs other duties as assigned.
A valid and appropriate California Drivers License
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Proper methods of packing, wrapping, and shipping packages;
Keeping accurate records and files;
Modern warehouse procedures including receiving and inspecting materials;
Equipment and supplies used in schools;
Safe working practices.
Keep accurate records and files both paper and electronic;
Operate a delivery truck (stick shift), forklift, and other equipment used in a warehouse;
Make minor repairs to materials, fixtures, and equipment;
Understand and follow oral and written instructions;
Establish priorities to effectively service schools and offices;
Lift boxes of books, furniture, equipment and other materials as required 50 lbs. continuously and 70 lbs. occasionally;
Work in a safe orderly manner;
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
One year of warehouse and delivery experience
Equivalent to graduation from high school
Driving a vehicle to conduct work.
Standing for extended periods of time;
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate warehouse equipment;
Hearing and speaking to exchange information;
Seeing to read delivery orders;
Carrying, pushing, lifting and pulling heavy items 50 lbs. continuously and 70 lbs. occasionally;
Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally;
The selected candidate for this position will be required to take a human performance evaluation and a back x-ray to assure that the physical demands of the job can be met.
