Job Summary:

Under the direction of the STEM Center Director and the Curriculum and Instruction Services Administrator:  plan, organize, coordinate and implement services related to Instructional Technology.  Provide direction, oversight, training, and development for STEM Center instructional technology functions, including web portal, district technology plans, planning and presenting STEM-related professional development.  Provide technical assistance and professional development to administrators, teachers, and staff to enhance the educational effectiveness of instructional technology as a tool to enhance student learning, achievement, and access.

 

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience: 

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Education or related area
  • Five or more years of successful experience as a teacher, administrator, and/or instructional technology related position

Licenses & Other Requirements:  

  • Valid Administrative Services Credential or meet the criteria and enrollment in a University program which grants the Administrative Intern Credential
  • Valid California Driver’s license

Major Responsibilities/Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate, oversee, train, and develop the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) web portal, district technology plans, and technology-based professional development;
  • Plan, organize, coordinate and implement the educational services, training activities, instructional resources, support functions, and professional development related to instructional technology for SMCOE personnel and local school districts to enhance both educator and student learning; monitor, evaluate and adjust activities in response to the needs of districts;
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to districts, administrators, staff and other stakeholder groups related to instructional technology.  Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs, projects and services across content areas and related to technology; visit sites and classrooms to monitor educational activities and assist districts with resolving educational issues, conflicts and problems related to assigned subject or instructional area and related student needs; assist districts in complying with State and federal requirements;
  • Train and provide direction and guidance to assigned personnel as required; assign employee duties and review work for accuracy, completeness and compliance with established standards and procedures; provide input concerning employee evaluations as requested;
  • Maintain current knowledge of educational methods, practices and standards related to technology and related laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures; assist districts with modifying services to assure compliance with standards and requirements;
  • Assist in the development and preparation of annual preliminary budgets for assigned subject or instructional area; review and evaluate budgetary and financial data; control and authorize expenditures in accordance with established limitations;
  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings, task forces, seminars, in-services and conferences as directed; present materials and information concerning assigned subject or instructional area and related services; assist with coordinating meetings, conferences and special events and activities as required;
  • Fully support a commitment to ensuring improvement in achievement for students of color, students living in poverty and English learners;
  • Participate in researching, writing, implementing and administering grants and other funding sources for assigned programs; assure compliance with requirements; prepare proposals and assist with developing and maintaining contracts as required;
  • Other duties as assigned.
