Requirements / Qualifications
Materials Test information: Employment tests are now given at the Adult School located at 600 G St. every 2nd and 4th Friday afternoon, beginning at 4 p.m. for open positions only. Deadline for registration is the Wednesday prior to the testing date. Please register for any of the tests by calling the ESC at 471-1100. Clerical Test: Prior to taking the Clerical Test you must have a typing certificate of a minimum typing speed of 50 wpm (after errors). The typing test must be based on net words per minute on a five minute timed typing test taken within the past six months. There can be no more than ten errors on the test. A typing certification and an application must be on file before an applicant is allowed to take the required qualifying written test. The typing test certificate must be submitted to the receptionist at the ESC by the Friday before the testing date. New Haven Adult school offers the typing test for $30. Testing appointment is required. Call 489-2185 to make an appointment.
