Bridge the Gap College Prep in Marin City (Marin County) is currently seeking1 teacher to support the expansion of our high school program. Bridge the Gap’s mission is to provide comprehensive educational support for the children of Marin City. Our goal is that every Marin City child graduates high school and completes college. Bridge the Gap (BTG) is a college prep academic extended day program serving youth in Marin City, grades K - 12. The center focuses on homework completion, academic tutoring in all subjects, and one on one tutoring and mentoring. The ideal teacher candidate is credentialed in either in Math, English, Science or Social Science. The teacher will need to help students pass the required A-G courses required for University enrollment. Other skills include: Good communications skills with a range of people including: the student, their family, the students’ high school teachers and the students’ tutor. Ability to help support our committed tutors work in the areas of math, science, English and other A-G required course work Patience and organizational skills essential Cultural competency in working with low income and at-risk students The center hours and days are currently Monday – Thursday 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM. The rate of pay is $40 per hour and will include an additional 2 paid hours of prep time per week
