New West Charter is a high performing, California Distinguished school located in west LA and who are seeking a full time music teacher. All applicants must have a single subject music credential and middle school teaching experience is preferred. Applicant must be able to teach instrumental music - Concert Band and String Orchestra, ranging from beginning to advanced levels. Knowledge of chorus and jazz band is also preferred
Requirements / Qualifications
New West Charter is seeking a middle school music teacher to teach the following disciplines for sixth and seventh grade: beginning band, intermediate saxophones, beginning percussion, and beginning choir. This newly created position would be the foundation for the entire New West Music Department as students are trained for two years to become highly skilled musicians. Courses would include Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, Beginning Strings, Intermediate Strings, Vocal Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. Come be a part of something unique and outstanding. Minimum Requirements: BA in Music or Music Performance Suggested Requirements: Teaching Credential in Music, BA in Music Education (or similar area of focus), min 3 years experience preferred, Basic Pedagogy in all areas.
