Big Up Kidz After School Program is seeking program leaders and substitute program leaders to join our team. Teachers, substitute teachers, and aspiring teachers are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must enjoy working with elementary grade students, and exhibit positive role model qualities. Positive attitudes and outgoing personalities are a must! Program leaders will serve as tutors and mentors to groups of K-6th grade students who participate in the after school program. They will be required to: * Teach lessons such as P.E. and literacy courses * Homework assistance and test preparation * Maintain weekly contact with the instructional day teachers * Manage morals of behavior and discipline to ensure safety and well-being of students * Maintain classroom equipment, work area, student’s files/records * Monitor individual students, classroom, library, and participate in recreational activities * Expected to attend monthly professional development courses and weekly staff meetings * Report observations and incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate behavior, etc.) * Other administrative work might be required
