We are looking for a Preschool Director with an entrepreneurial spirit to open and grow a new Jewish Preschool in Poway/Rancho Bernardo in a stunning Preschool facility connected to a synagogue.  The Director would also work as the main teacher.  Someone with director experience, or a teacher with the proper qualifications ready to take the next step of forging and growing a Preschool, is welcome to apply. 

Serve as administrator and instructional leader for Ner Tamid Preschool program.  Responsible for coordinating and managing student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.  Manage the functions related to the operation of the preschool program.  Develop and provide oversight of all instructional/curriculum components adhering to program goals and philosophy.  Implement and maintain a developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum that integrates Judaism, fine and gross motor skills, pre-academic skills, social skills, communication skills, and self-help skills. Provide compliance oversight for licensed operations and assure that regulations regarding health, safety and licensing are in place.  Use management techniques that provide a warm, caring, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.  Establish good working relationships and ongoing communication with synagogue staff, parents, and community.  Conduct regular, consistent classroom visits and provide feedback to teachers. 

Qualifications:
Required:

- 12 core semester units in Child Development, Child Family & Community, or Curriculum
- 3 semester units in Administration or Staff Relations
- 4 years teaching experience in a supervised group Child Care Center

All of the above, OR a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit/Program Director Permit
OR AA degree in child development and 2 years teaching experience, plus 3 units in Administration
OR BA degree in Child Development, and 1 year teaching experience, plus 3 units in Administration

Strong knowledge of Judaism, Jewish traditions, holidays, and customs
Strong Leadership Skills
Excellent Communication Skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to plan, organize, and direct education programs and activities
Ability to organize workload independently and set priorities: to adapt quickly to changing priorities; and perform multiple interrelated tasks.
