Requirements / Qualifications
The job of Parent/Community Liaison was established for the purpose/s of enlisting parental involvement in students' educational programs; working with parents in identifying and achieving goals; accessing support services; creating district-sponsored tutoring, education, and training programs and opportunities; and facilitating positive parent, school and student relationships. The purpose of this recruitment is to create an eligibility list to fill a current vacancy with schedule of: SIX (6) HOURS/DAY TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS. Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, April 13, 2011 (4:45 p.m.) Completed employment applications must be received in Human Resources by 4:45 PM on the closing date. The ideal candidate for Parent / Community Liaison will: • Have integrity and embody a strong work ethic. • Be accountable and reliable while working under limited supervision. • Possess knowledge of a second language (preferably Spanish). • Possess good people skills to establish and maintain constructive relationships with community members, parents, volunteers and District staff. • Be self-motivated, and have the passion to expand knowledge and skill set to benefit the position of Parent / Community Liaison. • Have diplomatic skills to resolve conflicts with employees, parents and program participants. • Have motivation to offer fresh ideas to reach set goals with efficiency. • Have skills to communicate with culturally diverse populations, including those with limited English proficiency (usually Spanish speaking).
