Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print   

Golden Hills School, a Junior Kindergarten through 8th grade private school, located in El Dorado Hills, CA, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues with diplomacy and the ability to work effectively with other personnel in a small school environment.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, 5 years of experience in financial management, and experience in an educational setting is preferred
  • Experience preparing annual operating budget and providing monthly tracking of actual results against plan.
  • Thorough knowledge of closing books monthly and preparing monthly financial statements.
  • Maintain and reconcile school depository accounts.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial compliance and reporting requirements, including disclosure obligations and tax regulations.
  • Documentation and reporting regarding 501c3 status for donor contributions.
  • Primary contact with bank to provide periodic reporting requirements.
  • Preparation, record-keeping and communication of a variety of contract/service agreements and employee records.
  • Coordinate rental of school facilities, outside vendors and parent volunteers to effect cleanliness, safety and improvement of school facilities.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial statements.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting rules (GAAP/FASB).
  • Experience managing HR benefits enrollment and corresponding GL accounts.
  • Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Ability to prioritize and work accurately with close attention to detail; strong time management skills and an ability to work independently.
  • Excellent writing skills and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a private school preferred and knowledge of private school revenue cycles and reporting requirements a plus.

Salary Range: $48,000 to $55,000
