Job Summary
The California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE) seeks a visionary, collaborative leader to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer. For over 50 years, CABE has been a leading voice for bilingual and multilingual education, biliteracy, and educational equity in California, with an engaged statewide membership, an active presence in Sacramento, and respected professional learning programs. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead CABE’s strategic direction, strengthen financial sustainability through diversified revenue and fund development, deepen member engagement, build strong organizational systems and culture, and serve as CABE’s leading voice in advocacy and partnerships. Requirements / Qualifications
Required: • Senior executive leadership experience in a nonprofit, educational institution, public agency, or mission-driven organization • Strong financial management, including budget oversight and organizational sustainability • Experience leading teams and strengthening organizational culture • Knowledge of and commitment to bilingual and multilingual education and the needs of multilingual/English learners and their families • Ability to travel throughout California, and nationally and internationally as needed Preferred: • Master's or doctoral degree in education, educational leadership, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field • Experience as a CEO, Executive Director, Superintendent, or comparable senior executive • Demonstrated success in fundraising and revenue diversification • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language No credential required.
