This posting is for non-teaching positions only. The job of Classified Substitute is for the purpose of supporting school and district operations by temporarily performing the essential duties of one or more classified positions during employee absences or position vacancies. Classified Substitutes provide continuity of services across a variety of assignments, which may include assisting in the supervision and instruction of general and special education students; supporting food service operations; performing entry-level clerical tasks; and transporting students or other passengers in district vehicles. Work is performed under direct supervision and in accordance with established procedures to ensure the safety, well-being, and effective support of students, staff, and school programs. Please note: the CalPERS retirement system prohibits CalPERS retirees from performing classified work in a school district.
