BEST Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraeducator to support students with disabilities in our non-classroom-based, independent study charter school. Under the direction of certificated special education staff, the Paraeducator will provide individualized and small-group instructional support, assist with implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and help students achieve their academic and developmental goals. This position includes in-person Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI) in the Huntington Beach area of Orange County approximately two to three days per week. All other duties will be performed remotely, including virtual student support, collaboration with teachers, documentation, and other assigned responsibilities. Candidates must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel to the Huntington Beach area as needed. BEST Academy offers a collaborative and innovative educational environment focused on personalized learning and student success. Employment Details and Location Expectations BEST Academy is a non-classroom-based public charter school serving students throughout Southern California. While most job responsibilities are performed remotely, employees are expected to participate in occasional in-person activities, including field trips, staff professional development, conferences, school-sponsored events, and community outreach and marketing activities. For this reason, BEST Academy prioritizes hiring candidates who reside in Southern California and can reasonably travel to required in-person events. Employees must be available to attend these activities as scheduled. Retirement Benefits: BEST Academy does not participate in the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS). Instead, we offer a 403(b) retirement plan with an employer matching contribution of up to 13.5%, subject to plan eligibility and contribution requirements.
