Under general supervision, this journey-level technical health position is responsible for performing specialized health care procedures, administering medications, and providing emergency medical care for students. This position is integral in leading and training Health Office Aides and overseeing the health needs of students from preschool to adult education levels. The District Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) ensures that medical records are maintained, and compliance with health screenings and immunizations is met, while also assisting with training staff in basic health-related protocols. This position operates independently but collaborates with health services staff, requiring both clinical expertise and clerical skills.
Requirements / Qualifications
Possession of a Licensed Vocational Nurse Certificate (LVN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) License. Possession of District-approved First Aid & CPR certifications. (Certification must be obtained through an in-person or blended course, online-only courses are not accepted) CPR and Basic First Aid Training Program | ASHI and MEDIC First Aid (hsi.com) CPR & First Aid | CPR & First Aid University Training Center | Irvine,CA (cprutc.com) PALS, CPR and ACLS Training & Certification in Laguna Hills (surefirecpr.com)
