Job Summary

De Anza College Summer Academy is building an applicant pool of instructors for our Summer 2027 enrichment program for middle and high school students (grades 6–12). We're looking for energetic, practical instructors who can introduce students to how businesses start, grow and succeed. Courses in this area may cover entrepreneurship and business fundamentals, such as identifying problems worth solving, developing a business idea, understanding customers and markets, basic finance and budgeting, marketing, and pitching an idea. Instruction is project-based, with teamwork, case studies and presentations. Course content and grade level will be developed with the selected instructor. Classes typically have 15–20 students. The ideal candidate brings real-world business or startup experience into the classroom and helps students build confidence, creativity and practical skills. Position: Business & Entrepreneurship Instructor (Grades 6–12) Rate: $80.00 per hour Program dates: June 28 – July 23, 2027, Monday–Friday (no classes Monday, July 5). Instructors also attend a required work morning on Friday, June 25, 2027. Schedule: The program day runs 8:30 a.m. – 12:55 p.m. in four one-hour class periods. Instructors teach two, three or four periods per day depending on course assignment, so daily start and end times vary by instructor. Period assignments are confirmed at hiring. Location: In person on the De Anza College campus in Cupertino. Preferred: A valid California teaching credential (including Career Technical Education) is recommended but not required. Teaching experience in business, economics or entrepreneurship and with middle or high school students is preferred. We welcome applications from classroom teachers, college instructors, entrepreneurs and business professionals with experience working with youth.
