Job Summary
Under the limited supervision of the designated manager, the Accountant performs complex, professional accounting and budgeting work in the computation, recording, and reporting of financial transactions; monitors and maintains budgetary, cost, and other financial records; researches, analyzes and resolves fiscal and system discrepancies; provides technical and procedural assistance.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education, training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration plus three (3) years of work experience in governmental accounting and fiscal control work, preferably with school finance; OR Associate’s degree plus five (5) years’ experience in governmental accounting and fiscal control work, preferably with school finance Licenses and Certifications: - Possession of an appropriate, valid California Driver’s License, and evidence of insurability
