This role extends beyond traditional tutoring. The teacher will serve as an academic mentor and trusted member of the family's educational team, providing daily homework support, reteaching, test preparation, executive-function coaching, and individualized enrichment. The ideal educator blends academic rigor with warmth, patience, and encouragement, and is energized by building a meaningful, long-term partnership with a family. Job Duties / Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is:
· Mature and professional — comfortable taking ownership of a role within a busy household of four girls
· High-energy and engaged — able to bring enthusiasm and positivity to long afternoons and evenings
· Highly organized — strong executive functioning in their own work and able to plan, prioritize, and follow through independently
· Adaptable — welcomes feedback and adjusts quickly
· Reliable — dependable and committed to the family through the end of the school year
· Warm and structured — able to build strong relationships while maintaining clear expectations and routines
· Independent — anticipates needs and does not require frequent reminders or direction
Requirements / Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Master's degree preferred
· 5+ years of teaching experience
· Experience with individualized instruction
· Strong language arts/humanities background
· Experience supporting executive functioning and study skills
· Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through
· Ability to commute to or reside near Atherton

· Private family or homeschool teaching experience
· Experience working with multiple children
· Experience with students attending rigorous independent schools
· Interest in a long-term relationship with a family
