Job Title: Substitute Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA) Assistant Classification: Substitute / At-Will Work Year: Department: Instructional Services / School Site Administration Job Summary Examples of Duties: 1. Assist in preparing classroom and instructional materials 2. Assist in teaching individual students or small groups 3. Assist in inventory, storage, and handling of instructional materials and equipment 4. Assist student with washing, toileting, and other personal duties 5. Assist with clerical and record keeping duties 6. Supervise parent drop off and pick ups 7. Assist in keeping the clinic room and facilities neat, clean, and safe 8. Work independently when required by BCBA 9. Assist BCBA with the individual assessment process to track progress towards treatment goals. Qualifications/Ability to: 1. Learn to work with children or students with exceptional needs 2. Follow assigned techniques used with specific students 3. Provide one-on-one Intensive Behavioral Instruction help to students 4. Maintain a positive and encouraging manner of interacting with students 5. Execute Intensive Behavioral Instruction methods and techniques 6. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information 7. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy 8. Maintain accurate records and status reports 9. Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines 10. Use good judgement in making independent decisions to respond to student requests and needs 11. Interact successfully with parents, students, administrator, BCBAs, and community agency representatives 12. Maintain personal hygiene practices 13. Follow health and safety regulations 14. Communicate effectively in written and spoken English Education: 1. High school diploma or the equivalent, AA Degree or 60-semester units of college credit or pass the Fresno County Office of Education Paraprofessional T
