Job Summary

Job Summary

The Project HELP Instructor provides instruction, guidance, and support primarily to the parents and caregivers of participating K–8 students. The teacher helps parents develop knowledge and skills, confidence, and strategies necessary to support their children’s academic growth. The Project HELP Instructor assesses student learning needs and uses that information to teach parents and caregivers how to effectively assist their children in areas such as reading, language arts, mathematics, study skills, and other foundational academic skills. The teacher models effective instructional practices, provide guided practice, and supports parents as they work directly with their children. The Project HELP Instructor serves as a bridge between the school, the student, and the family by building parents’ capacity to become active and effective partners in their children’s education.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid California teaching credentials appropriate to the assignment. • Successful experience working with elementary and/or middle school students. • Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional and intervention strategies. • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with parents and families.
