Job Summary

Job Summary

The Program Specialist, Prevention & Wellness is responsible to the County Superintendent and works under the direct supervision of the Director of District & School Support (Prevention & Wellness). The Program Specialist provides leadership, guidance, and technical assistance to schools and districts in the areas of integrated & inclusive academic, social-emotional, and behavioral instruction for all students within the California Multi-Tiered System of Support (CAMTSS) framework. The Program Specialist serves as a primary resource, providing a high level of coaching, facilitation, and professional development to P-12 schools, districts, and early learning programs regarding: • Systemic implementation of evidence-based, culturally sustaining practices and frameworks for social-emotional and behavioral instruction (e.g., Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports) leading to caring school communities, positive climates, and inclusive cultures. • Integrating mental and behavioral health services in schools using the Interconnected Systems Framework (ISF). • Implementing school-based crisis response, intervention, and trauma-informed care protocols to support student safety and mental well-being. • Collaboration with multi-disciplinary practitioner teams, including but not limited to Certified Wellness Coaches, school counselors, school psychologists, and licensed clinicians, to align student support systems. • State Standards, assessment, and evidence-based, culturally sustaining, inclusive instructional practices and frameworks like Universal Design for Learning (UDL). • Use of data, teaming, and continuous improvement processes to improve student outcomes and work toward equity.

Requirements / Qualifications

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: *Valid Teaching Credential or Valid California PPS Credential (School Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work) Desired *Valid California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility *Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: *Five or more years' of experience working at the school or district leadership level
