Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drive assigned routes on schedule, safely, and professionally
Complete daily vehicle inspections and maintain the inspection log
Maintain an accurate rider roster and account for every scholar boarding and exiting
Manage scholar conduct on board and report concerns promptly
Keep the vehicle clean and fueled, and report maintenance needs
Communicate professionally with families at stops
Cover the opposite route when needed, by mutual arrangement
Complete the daily pre-trip inspection and run morning routes, bringing scholars to a Fortune School campus in a certified 15-passenger school bus.
Qualifications
Required at time of hire. This position requires active certification. We cannot hire candidates who are not yet certified.
Valid California Class A or B driver's license with passenger (P) endorsement
School bus (S) endorsement
Valid California School Bus Driver Certificate (DL 45) issued by the California Highway Patrol
Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT physical)
First Aid and CPR certification, or a CHP waiver
High school diploma or equivalent
Three years of driving experience
Clean DMV driving record and enrollment in the DMV Employer Pull Notice program
DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance via LiveScan
Tuberculosis screening clearance
Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing, pre-employment and ongoing random
Mandated Reporter training
Ten hours of in-service training annually
