Position Summary: The Part-Time After-School Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the school campus after regular school hours. This position performs routine cleaning, sanitation, light maintenance, trash removal, and other custodial duties to ensure classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas are ready for students and staff each school day. Essential Responsibilities: Clean and disinfect classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, common areas, and other assigned areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the school. Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, and other fixtures. Wipe down and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, desks, tables, light switches, and handrails. Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windowsills, and other surfaces as assigned. Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed. Clean spills and address other immediate cleaning needs to help maintain a safe environment. Assist with maintaining school entrances, walkways, and other common areas. Set up, move, or arrange tables, chairs, and other furniture for school activities or events as requested. Perform basic custodial tasks and minor maintenance duties within the scope of the position. Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or other concerns to the supervisor. Properly use and care for cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies. Follow school safety procedures and all applicable cleaning and chemical-handling requirements. Maintain confidentiality and conduct oneself professionally while working around students, staff, and school property. Secure assigned areas and assist with closing and locking the school at the end of the shift, when applicable. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or school administration.

Position Title: Custodian

Reports to: Principal or Facilities Manager
Position Description: Responsible for keeping the assigned building(s) clean, safe and secure in accordance with set standards, laws and policies. Maintain the building(s) in a state of operational excellence that presents no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to the ongoing educational program.
Essential Functions:
- Clean, dust, and sanitizes rooms; clean and wax floors; clean windows and stairs; sanitize lavatories, furniture, appliances, and support apparatus, per approved schedule.
- Install paper products.
- Deliver supplies and materials.
- Keep exterior walks and lawns free of debris, and complete snow removal and other exterior work related to these functions as may be requested.
- Complete inventory reports, daily cleaning and maintenance reports, and supply orders.
- Operate building systems, including HVAC, fire protection, security control, lighting, and safety.
- Prepare facility setups for all school activities.
- Relocate furniture and equipment as needed.
- Operate equipment needed to complete essential functions including: vacuum cleaner, rug cleaner, hand and small power tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance work, paint, replace bulbs, ballast, and replace glass, as needed.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Imagine Schools Six Measures of Excellence in the execution of duties.
- Model positive character virtues and habits. Assist students in developing positive moral and performance character attributes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Principal/School Leader.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED
- Experience: 1-2 years maintenance or custodial experience.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic computer and email ability. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to perform in a physically demanding environment. Flexibility to deal with operational problems and emergencies. Able to work independently, analyze information skillfully and in a timely manner, as well as make decisions where appropriate. Ability to communicate cooperatively and constructively with other staff, students and parents in a multi-cultural environment. Ability to remain pleasant and helpful under sometimes-stressful circumstances.
