Job Summary
Under general direction, the Director of Expanded Learning plans, directs, organizes, administers, and evaluates the District’s comprehensive expanded learning programs, including before-school, after-school, intersession, and summer programs. The Director oversees program operations, budgets, grants, contracts, staffing, compliance, and continuous quality improvement while coordinating services with schools, families, community-based organizations, and governmental agencies. The position provides districtwide leadership for safe, engaging, and high-quality expanded learning opportunities and supervises assigned classified management and support personnel.

POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking a qualified individual to provide leadership and oversight of its districtwide expanded learning programs. The position is responsible for program planning and evaluation, budget administration, grant compliance, contracts and community partnerships, staffing, program operations, and coordination of services across multiple school sites. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, child development, public administration, business administration, recreation, social services, nonprofit management, or a closely related field is required. A Master's degree in a related field is desirable. Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience planning, administering, or evaluating expanded learning, after-school, summer, youth development, child development, educational, or closely related multi-site programs, including at least three (3) years of management or supervisory experience with responsibility for personnel, budgets, compliance, and program operations. Public school district and grant-funded program experience is desirable. License/Other Requirements: A valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required. Evening, early-morning, and occasional weekend work may be required.
EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If the Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future vacancies. Date of Examination The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email and/or telephone of the time, date, and place of the examination(s).
